The Father and Child Relationship is a defining factor of the fatherhood role. Fathers are naturally protective and supportive responsible parents who are able to engender a number of significant roles for themselves, their children and their communities. So is my beloved father, who turns 88 today.
My father is not only my idol, but he’s also my mentor, because he has always shown me the right path, he’s my guiding light whose love shows me the way. He has always been my greatest inspiration for whatever little good I have done in my life.
Just a few days back my father was very ill and that was the lowest phase of my life. It tore my heart to see him suffer that way and those few days made me go back in time and think of all that my father has done for me. But today, I am thankful to the almighty for giving him a second life.
He is an ordinary person propelled to do extraordinary things. Whatever is good in me today, I owe it all to his wisdom, his patience, his strength and his love. He has taught me by many examples as a role model; how to be on my own, how to believe in myself. He has always instructed me without controlling me.
As he celebrates his birthday today there is so much I want to tell him and thank him for, but I fall short of words to express myself. All I would like to say to him today is that “I am so grateful that I have you as my solid foundation, my rock. I love you, I respect you and I admire you my Babuji and your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever. Happy Birthday Babuji. God bless you today and always !”
